Why care about AHPRA advertising guidelines?

AHPRA has developed the Guidelines for advertising a regulated health service to promote patient safety, and to help consumers make informed decisions about their healthcare needs.

As a regulated health practitioner in Australia, you must follow these guidelines when promoting your health services. You’ll also be required to sign a declaration stating that your advertising complies with these guidelines, every time you renew your registration.

If you fail to comply, you could face a substantial fine (as high as $120,000), suspension of your license to practice, or even jail time.
