AHPRA Compliancy Check
Is your website AHPRA compliant?
Save time and gain peace of mind with an AHPRA Compliancy Check.
If you’ve landed here, you’re probably wondering if your Health Practitioner website, patient communications and even testimonials are AHPRA compliant.
Maybe you’re confused about what the legislation means and how it applies to your business.
Don’t stress. I can help.
Through my AHPRA Compliancy Check, I can audit your web content, including your testimonials, to make sure that it’s in line with AHPRA’s guidelines around advertising.
So you have peace of mind, that you’re not going to be stung with any nasty surprises.
What is AHPRA?
AHPRA stands for The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. AHPRA’s primary role is to protect the public and set standards and policies that all registered health practitioners must meet. They work with 15 National Health Practitioner Boards to do this.
Part of their work is to ensure that advertising regulated health services is compliant with legislation and guidelines. These have been developed to ensure that consumers are not mislead by false, misleading and deceptive health claims, and instead, are able to make informed, accurate decisions about their health treatment.
Who is responsible for advertising?
Health practitioners are responsible for their own advertising. Therefore, it is up to you to understand the legislation and ensure that all of your advertising is compliant. Every time you renew your registration, you will need to sign a declaration stating that your advertising complies with AHPRA guidelines.
Can I check for compliancy myself?
Of course, you can! However, many health practitioners find that the information on the AHPRA website can be hard to find and confusing.
And trying to add this important job to an already crammed schedule…well, it usually gets pushed to the bottom of the list.
But not being fully aware of the guidelines, or being ‘too busy’ to work them out, is no excuse if you’re found to have non-compliant information on your website or other patient communications.
My AHPRA Compliancy Check will let you know if there are any issues on your site that may be considered to be non-compliant.
What happens if I’m not compliant?
In short, you can get a BIG fine — as much as $60,000 per offence for an individual and $120,000 per offence for a body corporate, and possible imprisonment, depending upon which part of the legislation you breach. Your registration may also be restricted which may affect your ability to practice.

What they say…
“Nerissa has a great understanding of AHPRA regulations.”
Working with The Melbourne Health Writer has been a real pleasure. Nerissa has a great understanding of AHPRA regulations and is extremely thorough in the way that she reviews content. Communication was excellent and I will have no hesitation in using Nerissa’s services again in the future.
“Nerissa’s AHPRA review gave me great peace of mind.”
Nerissa’s knowledge of AHPRA compliance was why I sought her assistance for my private practice website/socials. With a busy practice and being time-poor, I was also looking for some assistance with evidence in the form of research articles. She was all over it!!
Nerissa also checked my client testimonials for AHPRA compliance and gave me advice on how to approach these with clients so I can use them in the best way to help promote my business.
Nerissa was friendly and very easy to communicate with, giving me a timeline of completion and following up to see if I was satisfied with her work. Her review has given me great peace of mind. I would not hesitate to recommend her to others seeking a similar service. Thank you, Nerissa
“Knowledgeable AHPRA compliance specialist.”
We hired Nerissa to help our writing team gain a better knowledge of crafting web copy for Australian healthcare clients that doesn’t violate rules or regulations put forth by AHPRA.
She provided us with a compliance manual that was not only well-crafted and thoughtful but continues to help us provide better content for our own clients while staying within the rules and guidelines of AHPRA.
Nerissa was easy and prompt to work with, and even let us review a draft of the material for any requests we wanted her to go into greater detail on. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone in need of a knowledgeable AHPRA compliance specialist!
